GREAT MAKAWAO PAINT-OUT INVITATIONAL 2010 Susie was delighted to once again be invited to represent Oahu on Maui at this major plein air event.  20 artists painted from Crater to Coast  non-stop for seven days. The kick off event was a "Quick Draw"  duringthe Makawao 4th of July Parade followed by a gala art show  and awards ceremony at Viewpoints Gallery.  What a great week! She painted non-stop for ten straight days from sunup to sundown, all over Haleakala, Wailea and Kihei. Exhilarating? YES! Inspiring? DEFINITELY! Exhausting? FOR SURE.   But given the chance, she would do it all over again tomorrow. One of the days lasted 14 hours including a wet painting exhibition finale. The Gala Show and Reception at Viewpoints Gallery  on July 3 showcased three of the best paintings from each artist. The editors of Art and Culture on Maui magazine awarded Susie's painting "Daily Greens" the best painting representing the island of Maui and published a feature article about her artwork in the Jan-July 2010 issue.
