When my nephew's son asked for an art
lesson as a graduation present, I couldn't
refuse. What began as a solo lesson turned
into a lively family affair. Unfortunately,
the designated day happened to be the day
before a major potential hurricane! 4 painters
(none with any painting experience) were game
enough to try their hands at plein air painting
- seaside at Wailupe Beach Park. Every easel
but one blew over in the high winds, along with
palettes, brushes and paint thinner containers!
Despite the hardships, enthusiasm perservered.
After four hours, I had to pry the brushes
out of their hands. This was my interpretation
of that day-one that none of us will ever forget!
