Hanalei Hideaway

So many people have reacted to this
painting saying something like: "It looks
just like the house I grew up in!" or
"That could be my Tutu's house!".
This tiny old plantation-style house
in Hanalei, Kauai, could be in many places
in old Hawaii. It strikes a deep, personal
and somehow familiar chord with many
of us. Perhaps it is that we want to
remember the way things used to be.
