Pikake Lei

This hula dancer caught Susie's eye during
the summer Keiki Hula Competition at the
Kapiolani Bandstand. She seemed lost
in thought. Maybe she was concentrating
on her moves to follow, or she was building
her confidence to perform on such a huge
stage in front of so many people.
This young lady, and the others that flowed
across that stage, represent an important
tradition and help perpetuate the history
and culture of Hawai‘i for future generations. |
